If I had to identify one core issue with Veilguard's writing, it would be the word subtly. Or rather, the lack thereof.
#dragon age#finished veilguard this morning#i enjoyed the game a lot#i wouldn't have played all the way through to the true good ending if I didn't#and i liked the cast of characters we had quite a bit too#but when compared to the level of nuance previous games had for some of their side characters#it can't help but feel somewhat lacking in comparison#example#when you catch Solas out in Inquisition for saying he missed courtly intrigue#and he actively disapproves of you for it#is a level of detail in writing and character work I think Veilguard would struggle to even emulate
